Calendula also known as Marigold, is a beautiful, bright orange or yellow flower, part of the Daisy family. It has been used throughout history for its therapeutic benefits, used by both Ancient Egyptians and the Romans alike. It was often used as a yellow dye and as a cheaper alternative to Saffron.

We use Sunflower Oil in our Calendula Infused Oil as it is an excellent oil for macerations and it has great skincare benefits itself. Packed with Linoleic and Oleic essential fatty acids and containing Lecithin, Sunflower Oil is a great emollient and an effective moisturiser, hydrating and nourishing the skin.

Calendula Infused Oil is great for skincare. Thanks to its soothing and calming nature, it is ideal for those with particularly dry or irritated skin. It works well as an all over moisturiser and it is an emollient which helps support the skin barrier function.

An excellent ingredient for your homemade beauty formulations such as lotions, balms, creams, face and body oils and many more.

Certified cruelty free and vegan friendly.

MYO recipe idea: Facial balm

Beeswax 2.5g
Shea Butter 8g
Calendula Infused Oil 18g
Vitamin E 1.5g
Chamomile Roman Essential Oil 0.3g

Melt the wax and butter, once cooled a little, add the Calendula Infused, Vitamin E and essential oil. Pour into a tin or pot and leave to set.

Combine Calendula Infused Oil with your favourite essential oils for a calming and nourishing massage oil blend. Sunflower Oil has a medium skin penetration rate so it is ideal for use in massage as it stays on the skin the ideal amount of time to perform the massage without leaving it greasy. Here at Naissance, we love Orange (#105), Lavender (#102) and Marjoram (#127) for a relaxing massage.

You can use Calendula Infused Oil on its own as a body oil or as a gentle yet effective make up remover. Calendula Infused is an excellent ingredient in your homemade skincare formulations in place of a carrier oil. Can be used to make your own creams, lotions, balms, body oil and hair treatments.

Why not try making your own deep conditioning treatment by combining Calendula Infused Oil with Coconut Oil (#203) and a few drops of Clary Sage (#189), massage into your hair and scalp, leave on for an hour, or overnight, then wash as normal. Begin to lather the shampoo before adding water as this will help emulsify the oil so it will rinse out easier.

Beauty Hack

Why not try Calendula Infused Oil as a natural alternative to hand cream? Massage a few drops into your hands and nails to soothe dry hands.
